Description: is a clan that is able to convert calories into chakra, which they then use in their hidden technique, Multi-Size Technique and its various related body-enlargement jutsu. Most of these jutsu are known to rapidly consume the user's chakra upon activation, and maintaining them during a prolonged battle can be tiring indeed, which must be why the Akimichi is prone to overeating in order to constantly replenish their chakra reserves. As a tribute to this, both Choji and Choza wear the kanji for "food" on the front of their clothing. If standard calories aren't enough for a battle, Akimichi can use the clan's Three Colored Pills to convert excess fat into chakra, at the cost of one's health.

Clan History: The Akimichi clan seems to have a special relationship with the Nara clan and Yamanaka clan. For at least two generations, members of these three families have formed an "Ino-Shika-Cho trio," named after the first part of the names of the members. The Akimichi members are the Cho in the trio. "Ino," "Shika" and "Cho" are the names of three cards needed for a highly prized trick of "Inoshikacho" in the Hanafuda.

Description:This technique is used in combination with the red Akimichi food pill (also known as the chilli pill), which burns away all of a ninja's excess fat and converts it into chakra. Because the members of the Akimichi clan tend to be overweight to support their jutsu, this pill can give them 100 times their normal chakra level. However, anyone who eats it will die unless given medical attention as described in the Nara clan's medicine book soon after. To perform the jutsu, the clan member simply channels all their chakra into one hand and punches the enemy, releasing the chakra on contact. The subsequent impact not only produces a sizable crater, but is almost guaranteed to kill the one on the receiving end.

Description:After the user uses Multi-Size Technique to make themselves into a human-sized ball, they tuck their limbs inside their clothes and use chakra to propel themselves into a powerful, but slow, roll. It is difficult for the user to turn in this form.

Description:Like the standard Multi-Size Technique, this jutsu expands the body, but expands parts of the body as opposed to just the stomach. Skilled clan members can alter the size of their body to a large scale with little trouble. Those with lesser skills can use the Three Colored Pills to do the same. With the larger body parts, the user's strength increases proportionally. In Part II, Choji has mastered this technique to the extent that he can use it almost instantly.

Description:This jutsu is basically the same as the Human Bullet Tank, but Choji wraps himself in kunai tied to strings to make it more damaging. The kunai also make him move faster since Choji has more traction than in his normal ball form. In Part II, Choji grows his hair to wrap around his body in a manner similar to Needle Jizō instead of using kunai.

Description:The Super Multi-Size Technique is basically a larger version of the normal Multi-Size Technique, but unlike the original which seemed to only expand the torso, the user's limbs and torso seem to stay in regular proportion to one another. It gives the user gigantic proportions. The clothes of the user also expand along with the body. When Choji uses this jutsu in Part I, he must first take his clan's Three Colored Pills to increase his chakra reserves.

Description:he Three Colored Pills are secret medicine used in the Akimichi clan. As the name suggests, there are three pills, each with a different color. First is the green Spinach Pill (ホウレン丸, Hōrengan), next is the yellow Curry Pill (カレー丸, Karēgan), and last is the red Chilli Pill (トンガラシ丸, Tongarashigan).
By forcibly converting the body's fat reserves into chakra, each successive pill ingested gives a tremendous power boost. The Chilli Pill is even said to increase one's power a hundred times. However, the pills have a drawback. Each pill damages the body, poisoning it and since the third pill converts all one's fat reserves, the user will become dangerously emaciated. It is said that after the third pill, death is imminent. However, the Nara clan has apparently done extensive research on the Akimichi and their pills, and that knowledge allowed the Fifth Hokage to neutralize the poison and repair the damage to Choji Akimichi, after he took all three pills to fight and kill Jirobo.
